Often times, I find that in some communities many of “US” African Americans have been left unsupported & disconnected right in the very neighborhoods where we live especially when it comes to literature.
Respectfully, brown sugar will be that place where many can come and get to feel… Seen, heard & most importantly at Home! I want brown sugar bookstore to feel like HOME to those who need a reminder from time to time, like myself.

Bookshop is an online bookstore with a mission to financially support local, independent bookstores.
We believe that bookstores are essential to a healthy culture. They’re where authors can connect with readers, where we discover new writers, where children get hooked on the thrill of reading that can last a lifetime.
About the Founder
My Passion for Books & Business can be traced back as far as my childhood elementary school days.
Whether as the president of my Highschool news paper or to the little girl selling cookies & #2 Pencils before class started, I’ve been on an entrepreneurial path right from the start.
Although I’ve always been excited about entrepreneurship, I've worked in corporate America for many years as a Tax Accountant.
Eventually, I became self-employed & started my own Tax Company.
Even with the Success of my Tax Franchise Rapid Refunds USA, My TRUE Passion was knocking at the door for me daily.

I could no longer ignore the truth, and that truth was that I would never genuinely feel happy & successful until I was working in my true Passion!
In comes Brown Sugar Café & Books!
A harmonious blend between my deeply rooted passion for literature, Because Books literally saved my life & the ever so mesmerizing business of Coffee!
As I was exploring my entrepreneurship in my earlier years, I discovered the retail side of coffee, I sold millions of dollars worth of wholesale coffee in the retail space, It was my first experience of financial freedom.

Couple that with my love of my culture and of exploiting the importance of youth literacy + entrepreneurship, I birthed what I feel to be my passion project in Brown Sugar Café’ & Books & I couldn’t be more excited about it.
